Accounting Assistant (Part-Time)

McCurdy Real Estate & Auction is seeking a part-time Accounting Assistant responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, rental property accounting, and other administrative and accounting functions. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and is ideal for someone with school-aged children.

McCurdy conducts more than 500 auctions annually on behalf of sellers ranging from individual homeowners to Fortune 500 companies.

  • Monitor company activities to ensure transactions are posted timely and accurately.
  • Generate invoices for auction commissions and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain accounts receivable reporting including status of aging accounts.
  • Handle bank deposits and post payments to accounts receivable.
  • Review and code accounts payable invoices ensuring proper approvals are obtained.
  • Maintain job costing transactions.
  • Reconcile company credit card and research missing expense receipts.
  • Prepare settlement statements for personal property auctions.
  • Maintain vendor W-9 documentation and Use Tax reporting.
  • Cashier at on-site personal property auctions.
  • Assist the CFO and other members of the Executive Team with administrative tasks.
  • Associate degree in accounting or business is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business is preferred.
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-review of results.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize simultaneous activities and assignments.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a strong multi-tasker.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills utilizing Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with Cyma Accounting Software, QuickBooks, or other similar accounting solutions.
  • Strong grammar and communication skills.
