Hello, I'm Braden McCurdy, CEO of McCurdy Real Estate & Auction. When it comes to real estate in Wichita, our family’s name has been synonymous with trust and excellence for over four decades. Today, I'd like to share our story with you – a tale of family, growth, and unwavering commitment to our clients.
Our Humble Beginnings
Over 40 years ago, my parents, Lonny and Annette McCurdy, laid the foundation of what would become McCurdy Auction Service. They started small, conducting personal property and real estate auctions to provide exceptional service and treat every client like family.
By the mid-1980s, their dedication had already begun to bear fruit. The company had grown to include ten staff members, including Rick Brock, our current Chief Administrative Officer and a crucial contributor to our company. In those days, we were conducting on-site auctions every week for both personal property and real estate.
Growing with Wichita
As Wichita grew, so did we. Today, McCurdy has expanded far beyond those early days of front lawn auctions. We now operate in and beyond Kansas with over 35 employees, each dedicated to providing the best possible service to our clients.
But even as we've grown, some things haven't changed. My parents, Lonny and Annette, are still actively involved in the company. Their approach to business – providing exceptional service, creating great experiences, and treating clients and buyers like family – remains at the core of everything we do.
A New Generation, Same Values
I've been part of this family business since I was five years old, as has my sister, Megan McCurdy Niedens. We've lived and breathed the auction world our entire lives. Today, as third-generation auctioneers, we're honored to carry forward the legacy our parents built.
I serve as the Chief Executive Officer and Auctioneer, while Megan is our Chief Operating Officer and Auctioneer. Together, we're committed to upholding the same principles that made McCurdy a trusted name in Wichita real estate for over four decades.
